1) Issues Facing Iowa’s Rivers and Streams
High bacteria levels. Closed swimming beaches. High nitrate levels. The "dead-zone" in the Gulf of Mexico. What are the issues facing Iowa 's rivers and streams? What are the causes of these issues and what can we do about them? This presentation will provide an overview of the challenges faced by our rivers and streams and address why they are worth protecting and preserving.
