1) Genetics and Dairy Cattle Breeding
The modern dairy cow is capable of producing large quantities of milk. Learn how geneticists have developed techniques to measure genetic merit of breeding animals. They then use the elite animals as parents of new young stock to make genetic changes in populations of dairy cattle. The presentation will give a historical perspective about the changes in the quantity and quality of milk over the last three decades. Closing remarks focus on a vision for future genetic augmentation in dairy cattle.

2) To Clone or Not to Clone
This presentation discusses the science and practice of producing clones as a modern reproductive technology. Pictures of recent examples of clones include dairy cows, domestic cat, donkey/horse, and wildlife (gour). Techniques used to make a clone are illustrated. Similarity between the techniques for making clones and stem cell cultures are noted. Concluding remarks discuss applications for treatment of diseases in modern medicine.
