Math Placement Exams

For the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences there are 3 Math Placement Exams: (1) Algebra, (2) Trigonometry, and (3) Calculus. Please consult the table below to determine which tests you need to take. If you have questions, you can either take a look at our Math Placement FAQ or contact Terry Dannatt at (515) 294-2766 (tdannatt@iastate.edu).

If you have determined that you need to take a Math Placement Exam, please follow the instructions below:

NOTE: You will need to have your student ID number.

ONLINE Math Exam Instructions

Follow the steps below to log into the online placement exams. If you would like to see a visual representation of the process, click here (pdf). If you would like to take a look at some sample exams before you begin, click here (pdf). Note: a Broadband/DSL connection is highly recommended for this site.

Step 1: Get your ISUCard number

You'll need to log into AccessPlus and find your ISUCard number (student ID number). Write down the whole number - all 17 digits - for Step 2.

Step 2: Get your NetID

Go to the web site called Acropolis:

• Click on "Register" to create your NetID.
• Fill in the required information, including your ISUCard Number.
• Click the "Next" button.
• Be sure to write down your NetID and password-you'll need them for the next step.

Allow up to 24 hours for your NetID to be activated before going on to Step 3!

The next three steps will be completed on WebCT.

To log into WebCT, you will need your NetID and your password.
